Letter from the Editor (In Chief)

We’ve seen the rise of a new type of force, partly based on the anarchy of the internet, part based on the considerably more tame regions of the streets. What this merger holds for the rest of the world, and indeed for the future, I don’t know. In the time that our group has been dormant, many people have been speculating on the fate of our magazine, you seem to have missed the most important aspect of who we are.
PA1N was born of a collective desire to articulate our discontent. The people’s voices coalesced into a magazine which grew from plain text that I generated out of my basement dorm room into the graphical powerhouse that CaponeX has begun to churn out. In that time, a multitude of people have joined us, in our cause, if you could call it that, in our beliefs, in our way of thinking. Simply put, we reject what the world has to offer us. Right now, we see that the world as it currently stands is drenched in poison. Our job is simple, but the task is difficult. Somehow we have to innoculate the people against this viral apathy that’s everywhere. How we will acheive this, I have not yet figured out.
With protests around the world now being organized on the internet and being brought to fruition on the streets of every major city in the world, we have seen definitive proof that voices in blogs and in underground message boards can have a very real and tangible impact on the world stage. As we have seen with everyday people taking time off from work and their personal lives to take a stand against things that truly matter, I have a new hope that what we do with our lives, even the smallest contributions, will have a larger impact as groups put aside differences to come together and fight what is actually an issue instead of bickering over silly things on the internet.
So who are we? We’re everyone. Teachers, IT workers, students, doctors, lawyers, artists, men, women, straight, gay, black, white. You name it. In effect, we are everyone. While I would never espouse to speak for everyone, I would say that this magazine has a unique voice that is rich in it’s diversity and strong because of it. No, we are not going anywhere. We’re simply growing stronger.
The new release is coming. Let’s just say that like all good things, this one has taken time to mature. We have jobs and lives that unfortunately require more time and energy than an otherwise alternative lifestyle can afford to lend to other projects.
I want to personally thank everyone for all the support we’ve received and all the ongoing contributions. Once we’re done laying out this new issue, we might have some overflow. We’ll deal with that when the time comes. For now, please be patient and ignore the naysayers.
cheers,

As an additional point to note, I’m not nay-saying. I’m just trying to bait these mofo’s into a new ish.
